About Lisa

For over 20 years, I have been enjoying the sport of dog agility. My journey started with my sweet and sassy Golden girl, Sophie. She always made me look good because she had the uncanny skill of being able to read numbers. The reason I know this is because as I would leave the ring after a very messy Q, I would often hear "good thing Sophie can read numbers." You might say that meant that I was a bad handler. Perhaps. I just figured I was an awesome dog trainer - I mean seriously, how many dogs can count?

In the early 2000s while living in the West Palm area, I discovered agility through the Obedience Training Club of Palm Beach County. After a move to Sarasota/Bradenton in 2012, I joined the Sarasota Obedience Training Club and began teaching agility and soon became the Agility Director for the club. During this time, I researched and followed the latest handling trends and was instrumental in developing a very successful agility program. After stepping down as the Agility Director, I was invited to fill in and teach classes for Karen Holik during her summer absences. While at Karen’s facility, I had the privilege of watching, working with and learning from many excellent agility teams from the Tampa Bay Area.

While at an agility trial in NW Florida after yet another move to be closer to family, my very handsome Finnegan fell in love with Debbie Revell’s Golden, Honey. Debbie is the owner of the dog training facility Pets Behave in Niceville, Florida and after getting to know each other, she asked me to join the team and I now teach everything agility - from Puppy and Beginner through Advanced.

After moving to NW Florida, I enjoyed exploring the different venues throughout the South offering agility trials. The Mobile Dog Training Club asked me to present an agility and obedience workshop and that was the springboard I needed to travel and do some Workshops for my new-found agility friends. After a few years, the fun came to an abrupt halt while I struggled through hip pain and ultimately hip resurfacing surgery in 2018. The Road to Recovery was long, but Darcy, Pippin and now Cassidy and I are enjoying training, traveling, trialing and I am again offering workshops to spread the love for agility far and wide.
